THE TAJ MAHAL OF INDIA
The Taj Mahal, like the Great of china, is one of the world’s seven wonders. It is one of the most beautiful and costly tombs in the world. It lies in the city of Agra in northern INDIA. It is situated on the southern bank of the Jamuna Rivesr. The tomb stands in a beautiful garden.
Shah Jahan was the moghul Emperor of INDIA. had a beautiful Queen named Mumtaj Mahal who died young in 1629 A.D The king was greatly shocked at hr untimely demise. He had it built in memory of his beloved queen, Mumtaj in the mid 17th century.
THE TAJ MAHAL ,a
monument , was designed by a Turkish archited. It took more they twenty years
for bthe building to be completed. Almost twenty thousand wprkers were employed
for and construction work of the Taj
Mahal. It is of white marble and stands on a platform of red sandstone.
The
building itseif is about 57 metres square. There are slender prayer towers,
called minarets at each corner of the
platform, with the height of 40.5 metres. Adome covers the centre of the
building. The dome is 36.5 metres tall with a diameter of 21 metres. The
iaterior part of the building is decorated with the flower patterns.On the
outside well are the passages from the Holy Quran.In the central room contains
two cen otaphs, the monuments of daed

THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA
Man has done many wonderful
things in the world. One of them is the Great wall of China, which is the
largest structure ever made. The wall
was entirely made by hand over the centuries. It is famous as one of the seven
wonders of the ancient world.
The Great wall of china was probably built the Chinese around 600’ s
B.C. Chinese Emperor, shi Huangdi of the qin dynasty (221-206B.C.) is regarded
as the fist ruler to plan and construct the wall. Much of the part of the wall
he built was to the north of present –day wall. He structure
bnuilt by connecting new walls with the old ones. The construction work
was continued by the latter dynasties such as the Hana (202B.C.to 220A.D.), the
suis (581to618),and the mings rebuilt and repaired it mostly around 1400’s. The
total length of the Great wall from the east to the central north China was
6,400 kilometres, but during the periods, it collapsed, and the length of the
main wall, excluding the additional branchas, is still 3,640 kilometres.
The
Great wall is extended from the coast of the Bo Gulf, near Qinhandao in the
east, and ends near the twon of Jiayuguan cast, and Danhang, near Anxi, in
the west. The highest section of the
wall on mount Bodaling, near Beijing, is 11 mete rs tall,and the width at its
base is 7.5 metres, and the top isnearly 6 metres wide. Watchtowers stand 90 to
180 metras tall apart along the wall.
